Pastor Reed Hopkins will be accompanying the youth on their mission trip to Hampden, West Virginia, July 17-24. He may be reached in an emergency at 290-8227. Please pray for our youth as they carry out God's work.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School begins Sunday, July 25th with 5:45 p.m. registration at St. James United Methodist Church. Infants and toddlers will be in the nursery; ages 4 through high school will be dividedinto classes. A light dinner will be served at 5:45 Monday through Thursday. Donations will go to Churchville Fire and Rescue since the theme of the week is "Hero Headquarters".
Classes will explore how heroes do the unexpected, take action, step out on faith, save the day, and stand for truth. The sessions will focus on how the insignificant person makes a difference. Registration forms will be available in July. Mark you calendar so that you don't miss this exciting week!
2010 Summer Sunday School
The Christian Education Committee needs 2 volunteers to teach the Pre-K through Fifth Grade group each week. In making your summer plans, please include some time to help with this vital project so that the regular teachers can be a part of other classes while other members can share their talents. Please sign up on the sheet posted in Fellowship Hall.
News From Presbyterian Disaster Assistance
Tropical storm Agatha struck Guatemala on Saturday, May 29 and has caused massive damage in Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua as well. PDA is ready to respond with One Great Hour of Sharing and/or designated funds to assist with disaster recovery needs. Already as part of the emergency response, members of the ACT Alliance in Guatemala are supporting first responders on the ground. As assessment become clear and the response continues, PDA will offer updated information.
