Pie Auction Nets a Thousand-Plus for Baja Trip

The recent revival of the Pie Auction fundraiser paid off handsomely on Sunday as members of the congregation gathered in the Fellowship Hall to bid on pies contributed by members. Auctioneer Nick Collins did a bang up job keeping the bidding hot and heavy. At least one of the pies went for over a hundred dollars and altogether the auction brought in an estimated $1,100.00. The money will go toward defraying the expense of the church youth group mission trip to Baja, California in Mexico July 15-21.

Food Pantry Needs Replenishment

The Food Pantry has served a record number of families in recent months and the shelves are bare in many places. Many items are currently unavailable at the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank where supplies for the Food Pantry are generally obtained. If you want to donate food, please place items in the usual area at the entrance of the Fellowship Hall. Canned fruit and hearty Campbell style meals and cereal are particularly needed, but contributions of any non-perishable food will be very much appreciated.
